MAKING THE LAW WORK FOR YOU

ABOUT US

APPLYING THE LAW TO YOUR BENEFIT

“We care about our clients and fiercely defend their interests. From the day you meet us, ‘your’ problems will become ‘our’ problems. We have spent years building cases and advocating for clients. Together, we will make the law work for you.”

I have worked for London (United Kingdom) firms from 1999-2003, practicing Immigration Law, Family Law, and other types of Civil Law. In 2002, I completed my training contract and obtained my license to practice law in England & Wales. While building the best case for my clients, I also advocated for clients in immigration courts and tribunals, and magistrate and high courts (in family  and civil matters). Prior to this, I received my Postgraduate Diploma in Law (CPE / PGDL) at the prestigious Kingston University in England. The following year, I studied the Legal Professional Course in London at the University of Law, in the center of London. In my undergraduate degree, I studied psychology, earning a B.A. in 1992 from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

I passed the California Bar in 2020, after working as a caseworker in San Jose and San Francisco for years, and became licensed to practice law in California in September of 2021. I speak fluent English and Spanish and can read and write in both languages. Speaking Spanish assists me often, given the number of immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America that need help with their immigration cases in the U.S.

Our objective is simple: we will take your side and will help you find the appropriate immigration remedy for your case. As a first step, our team will discuss your case and look at your documentation to help you understand your situation and how the law applies to your case. Then, together we will create a plan to achieve your goals. If required, we will build a case in  court and represent your interests toward a favorable outcome.

Rest assured, our team will strive to represent your interests from the day we meet.

HOW WE WORK

WE GIVE YOUR CASE ATTENTION

We want our clients to have the best result possible. As our smaller immigration firm provides our clients with more personalized attention, and our clients receive special consideration, research and care.

BUILD YOUR STORY

The foundation for a solid case lies in the detail. Even in another language, we will make sure all the relevant facts in your case come to light.

RESEARCH AND PREPARE

The law is complex. However, a skilled attorney will provide assistance and knowledge about the law. This will set you on the path to success with your immigration case.

WORK TO WIN

Our legal filings and applications represent a clear and concise view of your case. When we make an application on your behalf, we will work to achieve an approval. In the case of denial, we may appeal, if warranted.

WHY CHOOSE ME?

WE WILL MAKE ‘YOUR’ PROBLEMS, ‘OUR’ PROBLEMS.

Many attorneys may represent you in court or file your paperwork. Few will fight for you with the attention that we will. From the day we meet, we will devote our energy to making sure that you achieve your goal and that your case is handled properly. With our clients, we believe that ‘your’ problems are ‘our’ problems, until we achieve a positive result.

Years of Experience

Having experience with various types of law across the UK and in California means that I can assist in interpreting the law, especially with regard to immigration rules and regulations and case law.

Fluency in Spanish

I speak, understand, read and write in Spanish. I will understand many who speak Spanish from Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Columbia, to name a few.

Being Admitted to the California Bar

The California Bar is one of the toughest in the nation. Having passed this hurdle, I am now licensed to practice immigration law in the U.S. as well as the U.K.

Dependents and Other Family

I can assist you with your immigration matter, but I can also help your family members too. Please ask for the ways that family members may be entitled to relief in connection with your claim.

TESTIMONIAL

Word from my clients

When I take on your case, I will help you solve your legal problems…

We came to see Julie for my husband’s asylum claim. After listening to our stories, she thought that I had a stronger case and spent many hours with us putting together the application and the evidence for my claim.

Claudia M

I had another immigration lawyer who applied for Permission to Work for me, but he wanted to close my main immigration case in court. I wanted to keep going forward with my court case, and I was referred to Julie.

Jose R

I needed to get to California urgently, due to an emergency. I contacted J R Wiltshire Law, and they helped me immediately. I was able to get an expedited appointment at the consolate and was in California within a week.

Rosa C.

Julie helped me and my wife get her immigration status. She had to go back to the consulate in her country, but she needed a waiver of inadmissibility to make sure she could get back into the USA. She went there, got her visa and came back to me in the U.S. We are very satisfied.
